The Desert Rose Playhouse is located in a former special-event restaurant called The Commissary.
In 2012, we moved into the space at 69-620 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270.
We transformed it into a flexible performing venue with an artistic ambiance.
We currently are displaying paintings by Michael Griffin in the lobby and performing space.
We plan to rotate art exhibits in the upcoming seasons to feature several local artists.
To inquire about the availability of exhibit space, please contact us.
In our first season, the stage in the Desert Rose Playhouse has been configured in proscenium mode for our musical revue Dirty Little Showtunes
as a thrust space for Sondheim's Marry Me a Little
and Joe Orton's Entertaining Mr. Sloane
(Set Design and Construction by Jon Triplett)
as an environmental arena for The Boys in the Band
and back to a cabaret proscenium setting for the World Premiere of David Pevsner's
Musical Comedy Whore
